Tourism in Pingxiang

Pingxiang boasts its rich tourism resources, combining history, culture, nature, religion and folk together, and has a wide perspective of tourism development. Anyuan is the birthplace of Chinese Labour Movement and Autumn Harvest Uprising, the cradle of Chinese Revolution. Right here, the spirit of struggle for revolution was passed from generation to generation; the royal-minded revolutionists devoted themselves to the revolution and left us a great deal of historical cultural relics, such as the site of Club of Anyuan mineworkers, Zongping Lane, Negotiation Building, site of military conference of Autumn Harvest Uprising in Zhang Jiawan. After the establishment of CPC in 1949, the museum of Anyuan mineworker uprising was set up in which 8000 pieces of revolutionary cultural relics were collected. There is an Autumn Harvest Uprising square in the city, equipped with music fountain and water curtain movie. 

Wugong Mountain

Wugong Mountain in Luxi County is a famous scenic spot in Jiangxi Province, taking rank with Lushan Mountain and Hengshan Mountain as the three famous mountains in the south of Yangtze River in ancient times. Baihe peak, 1918.3 meters high, is the highest peak in Jiangxi Province. Monstrous hills and rocks, resplendent dells, precipitous cliffs and magnificent waterfalls, streams and springs form a landscape of mountain, cave, water, rock, cloud, pine and temple, the successive alpine meadows is reaching thousands of miles.

Yangqi Mountain in Shangli County is secluded with wonderful spectacles. Yinshui Cave in the south is shaped like a filer; all the year round brooks gather here and the cave will never overflow. The Yangqi Putong temple, built in Tang Dynasty, also lies in the mountain. It was the birthplace of the Yangqi Sect, one of seven sects of Zen in Buddhism. At present, Yangqi Temple has been inscribed into the list of 24 provincial scenic spots in Jiangxi province. At the foot of Yangqi mountain stands the Yilong Cave, which is honored the ˇ°First Cave in the worldˇ± by Chen Congzhou, a famous landscaper. The cave has a length of 4000 meters, with brooks wandering and zigzagging through and lots of Omniform stalactites. 

There is a Confucian Temple built in Qing Dynasty in the city, which is the best preserved in Jiangxi province. In the suburbs there is a Baoji Temple, resplendent and magnificent, with the history dated back to Tang Dynasty. The group of ancient architecture here are all magnificent and delicate with a uniform layout. The people live in PIngxiang are simple-hearted and honest, the folk culture here is rich and colorful, the unique picture in the hand, multi-tube calligraphy, Tea-Picking opera, Nuo culture are renown domestic and abroad, especially the Nuo culture in Pingxiang, famous for its complete Nuo Temple, Nuo Mask and Nuo Dance.
